**looks around** Anyone here?
I've been a fan of Bob since I was a child, and rediscovered him last week after watching a bunch of Road movies (thank you, TCM...). My favorites are Rio and Utopia.

But before I got into the Road movies, I actually watched a lot of Bob's specials. Is there anyone else out there who's seen Laughing With the Presidents, by any chance...?

I'd also like some recommendations on Bob's books/CDs; anyone have any favorites of those? Thanks in advance!

I'm a bad, bad mod - I was all excited about Bob movies being shown on TCM that night, too!

Hi there!

The only road movie I've never, ever seen is Rio...and my boyfriend loves Utopia. So far, the only one I didn't really enjoy was Road to Hong Kong, though it had its moments.

I haven't seen Laughing Witht he Presidents, but it sounds like a good time!

I got a CD off from Amazon for my birthday one year - I believe it's simply called "Bob Hope - Memories". It's got some good stuff on it (Bob, Bing, and Judy Garland [having a giggle fit!] singing "Goodnight Irene"). I also have "Bob Hope & Friends - Thanks for the Memories". It's alright, I got it before I got the previously mentioned CD...it has blooper tracks of "Put it There, Pal" and "Road to Morocco" on it. Also, Bob and Jimmy Durante sing "The Boys With the Proboscis", which is really funny!

I don't really have any book reccomendations for you, I'm sorry...but I'm so glad you came and posted! :D

XD;

Aww, you haven't seen Rio? I love it best because of the mind control angle; do see it if you get the chance.

Ironically, I haven't seen Hong Kong... Though I can imagine it wouldn't be as good with Dorothy in a bit part...

Laughing With the Presidents is hilarious; there's one part where Bob has this whole list of jokes to tell about President Johnson when he actually shows up. Bob turns to him and says, "I just want you to know, Sir, that this material was written without the knowledge that you were going to be here tonight." About halfway through the jokes he turns back to him and apologizes. XD

Thanks for the recommendations; I'll definitely look into those!
